Buffel Beats is a creative, community-led Landcare activity at Olive Pink Botanic Garden, held every Friday morning. It brings people together to care for the land in a welcoming social setting, with music and movement woven naturally into the morning.
The group works along the banks of the Todd River near Olive Pink, removing buffel grass to help protect the majestic River Red Gums and create space for native plants to recover. The impact is already visible, with new native seedlings emerging in cleared areas, showing how regular, shared effort makes a difference over time.
Sessions are relaxed and inclusive. People work at their own pace, with music, dancing, and Doug’s much-loved hula hoops adding to the energy. No experience is needed.
