Ivy Gourd is a fast-spreading weed impacting Darwin’s urban gardens and bushland. This event offers a chance to understand its impacts and be part of a shared response.
Learn how Ivy Gourd is being tracked through recent survey work in the Casuarina Coastal Reserve, alongside the launch of the Ivy Gourd mapping project. The session will step through how to identify the weed, how to collect it, and how to record its removal using iNaturalist.
The morning continues with a working bee along Rapid Creek, where you can take part in hands-on removal of Ivy Gourd.
This event is delivered in partnership by WGA, Landcare NT, Casuarina Coastal Reserve Landcare Group, Rapid Creek Landcare Group, Parks and Wildlife Commission Northern Territory, and City of Darwin.
