Chief Executive Officer
Emily joined Landcare NT in 2022 as Chief Executive Officer and has been focused on strengthening Landcare NT to mobilise and better support community landcare across the NT and ensure the long-term health of our environment for future generations.
Emily brings diverse skills and experience to Landcare NT, with a professional background in public health and community development, in particular working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. She is fascinated by the reciprocal relationship between nature and humans; and passionate about improving the health of our natural environment through improving the health of our community.
Emily has been instrumental in rapidly growing the organisation, securing Australian and Territory government funding in her short time as CEO.
Community Development Coordinator
Britt has come on board as the Community Engagement and Development Officer to help support the delivery of Landcare NT services and key projects. Britt brings her expertise as a trans disciplinary maker and creative producer working across the creative, government and community sectors. Collaborating with artists, communities and other partners in the NT she has produced local projects that are unique to the Territory and foster community connection.
Britt’s focus with Landcare NT is forming collaborations with local environmental experts, educators and a broad range of community stakeholders to deliver knowledge sharing and capacity building activities and events. Britt is also working closely with the Darwin Harbour Catchment Waterways Project to help engage the wider community and key stakeholders in the planning, education and implementation of co-developed initiatives.
Land & Water Coordinator
Anthony joined the Landcare team in July 2025 as Water & Land Coordinator. He brings over 20 years of experience in conservation, working closely with First Nations Ranger groups and land managers across the Top End. A dedicated and experienced conservation coordinator, He is passionate about empowering grassroots groups to protect and restore areas of natural and cultural significance for future generations.
Anthony leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives that enhance biodiversity, improve the health of waterways, and promote sustainable land management. He works collaboratively with community groups, government agencies, and volunteers to deliver practical, on-ground outcomes.
He also prides himself on fostering respectful partnerships with First Nations communities—supporting the sharing of cultural knowledge and strengthening conservation efforts grounded in Country.
Event Coordinator
Enya joined Landcare NT as Event Coordinator, bringing a background in project management, communications, and creative production across the arts and community sectors. With experience delivering public events and community-focused projects, they are passionate about creating engaging and accessible spaces that connect people with the environment and each other.
At Landcare NT, Enya leads the planning and delivery of key events, including the Top End Native Eco Fair, working closely with community groups, stallholders, and stakeholders to bring together diverse voices and initiatives. They are particularly interested in fostering meaningful community engagement through thoughtful programming and collaborative partnerships.
Education Coordinator
Jessie is an environmental educator and program designer working across schools, community
organisations, and environmental programs to design and deliver meaningful, place responsive learning
experiences. Jessie focuses on engaging both young people and the wider community to build ecological
knowledge, skills, and a strong sense of place. She has coordinated environmental education initiatives across
Australia, including with organisations such as Land for Wildlife Central Australia and CERES, leading
workshops, biodiversity surveys, and habitat restoration, alongside developing programs aligned with the UN
Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
We can take action for a day, yet what happens after we leave? Grounded in growth mindset and the gradual
release of responsibility model, Jessie designs programs that foster stewardship and sustained environmental
care, with a focus on curiosity, optimism, agency and long term impact in a changing world. She is drawn to
the weird, wacky and wonderful phenomena of the natural world and is a true insect enthusiast. Feel free to
send any insect photos her way, she’s always up for identifying a mystery invertebrate!
Education Officer
Emma Lupin is a plant lover, sensory explorer, and environmental educator based in Tropical Australia. She trained in plantsmanship at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh but has lived in the tropics since, arriving on Larrakia country in the Northern Territory by sailing boat, her home now for 18 years.
Emma focuses on community engagement, sustainability, and environmental management, working with youth, migrant, and First Nations communities. She has coordinated programs like Learning on Country in Central Arnhem Land, Land for Wildlife Top End in the Top End and numerous programs in the field of sustainability and land management.
Emma holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science, Certificate IV in Visual Arts and was a 2024 Churchill Fellow researching plant knowledge exchange.
Operations Support Officer
Cylie supports the day-to-day operations of Landcare NT, helping create a steady and well-organised foundation that allows the team, members and volunteers to focus on delivering the organisation’s programs and activities across the Territory. With a background spanning administration, event logistics and digital communications, she brings a thoughtful and practical approach to keeping systems, processes and behind-the-scenes operations running smoothly.
Working closely with colleagues, member groups and partners, Cylie contributes to a range of organisational activities, including office coordination, event support and continuous improvement initiatives. She enjoys being part of a collaborative team and contributing to work that strengthens community-led environmental action across the Northern Territory.
Communications Manager
Elli joined Landcare NT in 2026 to lead the organisation’s strategic communications and marketing, helping grow awareness of community Landcare and inspire more Territorians to get involved in caring for the places they love.
With a background spanning tourism, media, government and the not-for-profit sector, Elli has more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, campaign delivery and storytelling. Having worked across organisations including Tourism NT, CareFlight and NITV, she is passionate about translating complex ideas into meaningful stories that connect people with purpose.
At Landcare NT, Elli is focused on strengthening the organisation’s brand, growing community participation and building partnerships that support practical, community-led environmental action across the Northern Territory.
Chair
Andrew has worked for over thirty years in diverse roles supporting community development and empowerment including in Australian First Nations land and water use and management, international development, participatory program monitoring and evaluation, program quality management, and organisational change management. He brings significant experience in cross-cultural leadership, including in strategy development and execution, operations, human resource management and financial management.
Andrew has had a strong personal and professional interest in Landcare throughout his life in the NT, where he has lived intermittently since 1988, mostly in Alice Springs. His current interests are in sustainable management of our land and waters and better acknowledgement of the importance of First Nation’s traditional knowledge in natural resource management.
Deputy Chair and Public Officer
I have a PhD in landscape restoration following mining and 40 years experience in land resources assessment, landscape management on construction sites, environmental impact assessment and contamination remediation. In my later years I’ve been involved in community gardens, and beekeeping. Community landcare is important. The issues I deal with are increasing local food production and reducing environmental degradation by paving and poor water management.
Treasurer
As a CPA with board-level financial governance experience, I see Landcare NT’s role in restoring waterways, empowering school programs, and supporting desert communities. I’m keen to ensure these vital initiatives are backed by rock-solid financial systems, compliance, and good governance.
Secretary and Top End Regional Representative
Sandy has had a strong interest in sustainable development throughout her career as an Environmental Scientist. Having recently joined Friends of Fogg Dam and observing first-hand the dedication and commitment of the group to preserving and promoting a jewel in Darwin’s rural area, she was inspired to return to her roots and get involved with Landcare NT. Sandy hopes to contribute to the evolution of the organisation, as well as to Landcare activities in her backyard. She believes that community-based activities are a glue that hold communities together, by providing opportunities for people to come together, regardless of their background and culture. She is excited to be contributing to this in some small way.
Raised in the NT, Sandy started her career in Darwin, focusing on water quality initially, and then moving into wildlife research. After obtaining degrees at Curtin University and The University of Western Australia, environmental consulting exposed her to a wide range of environmental issues across Australia, but primarily in the NT and WA. More recently, she has focused on environmental regulation and social advocacy.
Arid Lands Regional Representative
I am blessed to live on the property of Peter Latz. The 20 acre block is more that 90% Buffel free due to Peters efforts. Where I live is a showcase of biodiversity – plants insects, birds, reptiles as well as a seed bank for rare / threatened species. Living the dream here and seeing how much degradation is nearby can be overwhelming. Knowing there are ways I can contribute through Landcare is heartening.
General Member
Emily has enjoyed her last year as Secretary of Landcare NT and seeing an exciting period of growth for the Management Committee and the organisation. She is looking forward to continuing to contribute proactively and strategically to the role.
In 2024 Emily undertook training to enhance her skills and professional network across the sector and with representatives on other Australian boards. She is keen to continue implementing these learnings to enhance the activities of the Management Committee.
General Member
Norbu works as a Sustainability Officer with a background in environmental management. He has joined the Landcare NT Management Committee so that he can contribute to Landcare NT’s mission of advocating for sustainable use of land and other resources for the long-term health of the environment in the NT which aligns with his career aspirations and skills.
In the past, Norbu has managed projects, facilitated research and taught environmental science courses to the students.
