Celebrating Community Landcare Volunteers at Parliament House
Landcare NT, community Landcare volunteers and supporters came together last month to celebrate the tireless and remarkable efforts of Landcare volunteers at a special event at Parliament House, hosted by Kate Worden MLA: Member for Sanderson and Landcare NT.
CEO, Emily Raso and Chairperson, Annie Andrews spoke about the wide variety of engagement that Landcare NT and member groups conduct in sustaining the long-term health of the Territory's unique landscapes.
Minister Worden also made the exciting announcement that NT Government will be supporting Landcare NT with $150,000 from the NT Government for the delivery of our core programs and services for the remainder of 2024/25. The Minister also made a commitment to raise the profile of community Landcare by holding regional Landcare recognition events.
This is an important first step in helping to ensure that Landcare NT has the resources and financial stability to continue to support, strengthen and mobilise community Landcare across all regions of the NT and to work alongside government, community and industries to ensure the long-term health of our environment.
We continue to advocate for funding to support the thousands of hours, countless efforts and our shared passion to preserve our precious environment for future generations!
