CLMA launches podcast series sharing stories from Central Australia

Centralian Land Management Association (CLMA), a long-standing member group of Landcare NT, has launched a new podcast series titled Red Centre Reflections.

Hosted on the Central Station platform, the series captures stories from people living and working on some of Australia’s most remote cattle stations—offering grounded, first-hand perspectives on life in the outback.

From station managers and ringers to cooks, chopper pilots, and families, Red Centre Reflections brings together diverse voices that reflect the depth, challenges, and community spirit of land-based life in Central Australia. These stories span the realities of mustering and maintenance, bush weddings, campdrafts, and working dogs—alongside the ongoing challenges of fire, drought, and isolation.

Early episodes feature station identities such as David Bird (Indiana Station) and Gary Prior (Hamilton Downs Station), offering generational insights into resilience, adaptation, and connection to land.

Through this project, CLMA continues its strong commitment to community engagement—amplifying local voices and sharing the experiences of people who live and work on country.
