Expressions of Interest - BioBlitz 2025 Event Coordinator Consultancy (Darwin)

Friends of Casuarina Coastal Reserve Inc. (FCCR) are inviting expressions of interest for an exciting opportunity to help lead in the organisation and delivery of the first ever BioBlitz in Casuarina Coastal Reserve on March 29th, 2025!
This community-focused, nature-based event will engage the public in scientific biodiversity surveys over a short period of time. The Working Group has arranged for scientists to lead surveys with project funding under the Northern Territory Community Grants Program.
This role would be ideally suited to an individual with a passion for environmental conservation, strong event management skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate volunteers, partners and stakeholders.
The BioBlitz Consultant will be responsible for:
- Organising the BioBlitz with guidance and input from the BioBlitz Working Group.
- Securing and managing resources, including volunteers, equipment and partnerships.
- Collaborating with local experts, scientists and organisations.
- Managing event promotion, registrations and communication.
- Ensuring a safe, ethical, engaging and educational experience for participants.
- Overseeing event delivery and post-event evaluation.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in event coordination, preferably in environmental or community-based projects.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling and resource management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Knowledge or interest in biodiversity, conservation and citizen science initiatives.
Remuneration and Work Arrangements
FCCR anticipates approximately 19 days work before the event, the day of the event (a Saturday) and 4 days after the event; payment at HEW 6.2 level.
Working days and times to fit the project and Consultant will be negotiated with the BioBlitz Working Group.

- A brief cover letter outlining relevant experience and motivation.
- A CV highlighting event coordination and related skills.
- Any relevant references or examples of previous similar events managed.
