Farewell to Tina: The Driving Force Behind Landcare NT Storytelling
For the past couple of years, Tina Griffith has been the driving force behind Landcare NT's communications, helping to shape how we tell the stories of community Landcare across the Northern Territory. As our first-ever Communications and Membership Coordinator, Tina played a foundational role in developing the systems and processes that have made Landcare NT's outreach more effective, engaging, and impactful.
Now, as she embarks on a new chapter with the National Landcare Network, we want to take a moment to celebrate her incredible contributions, acknowledge her impact, and express our deepest gratitude.
A Trailblazer in Storytelling
From the beginning, Tina understood the power of storytelling in showcasing Landcare’s impact. She recognised that the work of Landcare groups across the NT deserved to be seen, shared, and celebrated, and she worked tirelessly to make that happen. Through newsletters, annual reports, social media, and publications like Celebrating Landcare and the Landcare NT website, Tina gave a voice to the passionate volunteers and community groups working to protect and restore the Territory’s landscapes. Her role extended beyond just communications – she was instrumental in showcasing member activities, strengthening Landcare NT’s public presence, and launching key projects, including the startup of BioEd, a program designed to connect education with environmental conservation.
Not a Goodbye, Just a New Beginning
While we will certainly miss having Tina as part of the Landcare NT team, we know that this isn’t really a goodbye–it’s just the next step in her Landcare journey. Landcare NT is proud to have 'planted' an NT ally into the National Landcare Network, and we know she will continue to champion the voices of Landcare groups, especially those in regional and remote areas, on a national scale.
Looking Ahead
As Landcare NT moves forward, we will be utilising local talent to backfill the Communications and Membership role in the short term. Thanks to the strong foundation Tina has built, our communications strategy will continue to thrive, ensuring that the achievements of Landcare groups remain at the heart of everything we share.
