Landcare NT at the National Landcare Network Conference: Representing the NT's Landcare Movement

In February, leaders from the State and Territory Landcare Organisations and National Landcare Network came together in Sydney, to discuss future-proofing community Landcare. Representing the Northern Territory was Landcare NT CEO, Emily Raso, who joined discussions on national collaboration, volunteer engagement, and the vital role of peak bodies in supporting grassroots Landcare efforts.
A National Platform for Local Voices
This forum provided an important opportunity for Landcare peak bodies like Landcare NT to discuss how we can continue to be adaptive, responsive, and effective advocates for local Landcare groups.
Conversations explored challenges and opportunities in volunteer engagement, capacity building, governance, and First Nations leadership, which remain central to ensuring that Landcare remains a resilient and effective community movement.
With each state and territory facing its own unique challenges, these national gatherings aim to strengthen the collective voice of Landcare by providing a platform for regional and remote community Landcare groups–such as those in the NT–to participate in and be included within national discussions.
