Thank You Mike: For Your Leadership and Commitment to Caring for Darwin’s Waterways

Mike Clark joined Landcare NT in early 2024 as the Project Manager for the Darwin Harbour Catchment Waterways (DHCW) Project, a $3.8 million initiative running from 2023 to 2028. From the outset, Mike brought clarity and coordination to a complex, multi-stakeholder program designed to protect and enhance Darwin Harbour’s key catchments.

However, last week Mike finished up as Project Manager and stepped towards retirement.

Mike’s leadership was instrumental in shaping the foundations of the DHCW Project. Mike guided the development of a shared project vision, facilitated strategic planning workshops, and helped establish a four-year action plan through collaborative design processes with over 50 stakeholders

The project recently progressed from planning to implementation and Mike has been instrumental in delivery of early on-ground activities across Rapid Creek, Ludmilla Creek, Sandy Creek, and Mitchell Creek

Mike’s calm, methodical style and deep experience in biodiversity conservation will leave a lasting imprint on the project’s methodology, partnerships, and outcomes. This expertise will not be lost, as Mike continues as a dedicated volunteer with the Palmerston Conservation Group.

Landcare NT thanks Mike for his steady leadership, deep commitment, and invaluable contribution to community Landcare and our precious natural waterways.
