Weedwalkers Top End Landcare Gearing Up for Wet Season

Weedwalkers Top End Landcare Gearing Up for Wet Season

Weedwalkers Top End Landcare Group are gearing up again for the wet season, with volunteers helping protect Top End biodiversity from being devastated by destructive, eco-modifying invasive species.

There are several activities happening and opportunities to get involved in helping to make an impact, while learning about ecology and how to combat invasive species. Not to mention having fun with like-minded people!

  • Litchfield National Park - Bushwalking and camping, visiting gorgeous swimming holes while getting rid of invasive gamba grass patches in remote, wild, beautiful places.
  • Land for Wildlife - Helping property owners to protect their native plants and animals from takeover bids by gamba or mission grass. You get to meet amazing people who really care about habitats on their land.
  • Casuarina Coastal Reserve - Controlling ivy gourd, an invasive vine strangling native trees and forest (most of the work for this will be in the next dry season). This work will follow up on survey work being done by Adoptaspot volunteers.

Join this group if you'd like get out and make a real difference, suitable for both young and old. Get in touch with the group by email at: [email protected].
